Calif won't revoke license of bar in Adenhart case

COVINA, Calif. — The Covina bar that served a man convicted in the drunken driving deaths of Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and two others won't lose its California liquor license.

State Alcohol Beverage Control investigators decided there is insufficient evidence to revoke The Well Bar's liquor license.

Surveillance video presented during Andrew Gallo's trial shows Gallo and his stepbrother drinking for hours at the Covina bar before the April 9, 2009, collision in Fullerton.

ABC deputy district chief Beth Goldberg tells the Pasadena Star-News that the video doesn't show the necessary evidence to prove the bar knowingly overserved Gallo. She says there must be obvious intoxication and the video only shows Gallo from behind.

Gallo was convicted last month on three counts of second-degree murder and he's facing 50 years in prison when he's sentenced Dec. 10.
